Cyber crime is emerging as a very serious threat in today’s world. The internet brings joy to our lives but at the same time it has some negative sides too. The cyber criminals are always in a search to find out the new ways to attack the possible internet victims. Today, everybody is using the computers i.e. from white collar employees to terrorists and from teenagers to adults. All the conventional crimes like forgery, extortion, kidnapping etc. are being done with the help of computers. The FBI and the Europol wrecked the Dark-net to nearly close down Playpen-a child phonography site, with over 900 members world-wide. The Playpen is considered to be one of the largest pedophile sites in the world and the worst ever that exists. The founder, of the site, Steven W Chase, was sentenced to a jail term of 30 years and 870 members of the group were arrested, as per the Europol sources. More than 300 children, who were sexually harmed by the site members, were rescued by the investigating team. The FBI sources said that they had hints about the horrendous site, right from when it started its operations in 2014 but was finding hard to locate it on the web, as the site could be accessed only through Tor. Tor is a breeding platform for all illegal activities on the web, as it keeps all the significant user information anonymous and is hard to crack open because of the undue layers of protection it gives to the users.

The most recent cyber rules from the Ministry Of Information Technology to tighten the Cyber Security in Prepaid Payment Instruments or PPIs, could pose a threat to the E-Wallet industry. The ministry has asked all E-Wallet players to incorporate multi-level authentication in every wallet payment transaction, which as per the PPI industry heads could be a potential threat.  According to the industry sources, the multi-layer authentication will be a possible hurdle to all the E-Wallet instant payment schemes.
