Kerala May No Longer Be The God’s Own Country…
The
God’s Own Country, surely looks like, it needs to fight a hard battle to
reclaim its lustrous title. The crime
rates that are currently raging within the state have definitely pushed it to the
national topper in the crime chart, even beating out on UP and Delhi. As per
the National Crime Records Bureau, Kerala has a crime rate of 424.1, which is
significantly more than the Nation average of 187.6. According to the NCRP
reports, the God’s Own Country have now
become the most unsafe state in the country
with Kochi turning to be the most dangerous city.
The metro city has a crime rate of 1879.8 which is frighteningly much more when compared to other cities of the country with an average of 341.9. The NCRP has released a complete detailed statistics of the various crime rates happening in the state that includes rape, kidnapping, attempt to murder, murder and dowry death. The rape rates against women are also significantly higher in the state and is currently clocking at 27%, which is the higher than Delhi which has an average of24.6 and is considered to be the most unsafe place for women. And these scary figures do raise the doubts on the effectiveness of the law and order happening in the state.
